Autumn Weight Loss (7). Don’t Stress, Plan for Success.
A #realworld account to help you manage a Healthier Eating and Exercising Regime; warts and all.
What did I eat today?
Breakfast: Dry Porage Oats, Strawberries, Natural Yogurt . (Look I know I am a creature of habit but I fed 2 lots of house guests, changed 3 beds and that’s that!) 🙂 Plus I like it; it just means I have to watch the Carbs. later in the day.
Treat: spoonful of last night’s leftovers (busy lady excuse).
Lunch: Omelette with chorizo and lettuce.
Treat: celery and little peanut butter

Dinner: Poached salmon, ratatouille and last night’s quinoa (it goes a very long way). I forgot a photo but have taken one from Sam Wicks book which I am following. (Affiliate fees I should be thinking.)
Perhaps I am just so excited about eating my lovely dinner that I forget to take my own photo.
Key point
The fact that I had quinoa left over from last night night perhaps is telling me that I am naturally learning to eat less than before.
True Story. Ten years ago when I moved down to Hampshire from Marlow, Bucks I was possibly menopausal (that has nothing to do with my decision to move I hasten to add 🙂 ). I went to the Doctor and was questioning that I was now finding it difficult to lose weight and was the menopause perhaps the reason?
She replied politley by asking- Wait for it!
‘Have you ever considered eating off a smaller plate?’
Have to say I thought,’Cheeky buggar of course I did not need to consider that?’
Hindsight: She was probably right onto the problem and solution?
I obviously ignored it!!!
Question:
Do you now eat off a smaller plate than before?
Do you think that will help?
Gentle ramble
I did not sleep terribly well after 5am this morning which is unusual but I did have something annoying me that I am still trying to sort out as I type. I decided to get up early.
We have 2 sets of Guests staying. A charming German couple who have spent 3 weeks really enjoying themselves in England and especially Devon. A couple from Manchester; she is down to judge at a Dog Show in Havant. Very nice people. Lots of bedding dealt with and now for other things.
I seemed to have spent the rest of the day on my bum trying to sort out a House Sit. Am wondering if I am right to ignore Gut Feel (which is- 4 weeks in Dec/Jan is just that little bit too long) but it is in Cornwall, Port Issac, over Christmas. Will let you know.
So many different diets
There are so many diets out there. This kind, that kind. Many claim to be suitable for those with particular needs which need addressed. What to do?
My advice to ease Stress and Anxiety:
Plan for Success and be prepared to stick anything remotely sensible into your mouth should you be struck by a hunger pang, an anxiety flare-up or any such Self-Sabotaging blow to Good Intention. Be in control until you are into a better routine and your Psyche is adjusting to the change.
A good dictionary definition for Psyche: The mind, soul, or spirit, as opposed to the body. In psychology, the psyche is the center of thought, feeling, and motivation, consciously and unconsciously directing the body’s reactions to its social and physical environment.
One of my areas of weakness.
I need to keep my alcohol intake well under wraps. In the past my eating increased if I had a glass or so of something alcoholic.
Now do this!
Let’s shout right out loud when we have success.
Look in the mirror-
ROAR ‘I AM ENOUGH’ Tomorrow I will go on the scales. One way or another I’ll be roaring. Let’s hope it with success.
Recipe from Joe Wicks- Lean in 15.
I will be delving into other recipes of course and sharing but for the moment my life is busy. I am making life easy. Do not over complicate; it usually ends badly.
By The Way:
Have you noticed what I have not managed to do this week? And PORT ISSAC House Sit- Lady has chosen someone else. I am relieved as I was not fully comfortable, at all.
