Day Four and being accountable: eating a healthier and weight reducing diet.
When we set ourselves a task most of us know what is required. With regards to healthier eating and implementing our goal on a day to day basis, I am reminded of a scene with Julia Robert’s from the film Notting Hill.

My weight beliefs and concerns often sit at the back of my mind. I now work in Emotional Healing and have a good awareness through Meta Health that there are areas of my life/subconscious/ behavioural patterns which if addressed, can help me to clear or reduce aspects of e.g.water retention, kidney issues.
And as I will keep repeating to you; any life change takes time, patience and usually considerable effort.
Key point:
If you always say, ‘it’s always been a problem area for me’ then it will continue to be a problem for you. There – Isn’t that totally reassuring!
I hope you like the photo that my friend Jennifer McCallion happened to have posted on Facebook this morning. I told her I’d put it in my blog.
What a hoot!
Anecdotal interlude.
I am using my sister as a great example of how we can assume. (I never recommend assuming anything!). She sent me an email yesterday and I thought ‘ Oh what might she be saying because this blog I’m writing’. I was assuming that she may just be a little critical or concerned that I was going public. I asked Herb to read it first and if it was negative I wasn’t going to read it as I was in the middle of writing a post. Anyway he read it and said I should do the same.
What it did say was:
Hope you held up at the golf lunch today Dont think you can afford steak every day . You will be passing on the Indian tomorrow! Anyway good luck.
(I won’t quote you again MT but all points noted and apt.)
Her comments were encouraging, not critical.
As sisters we do help each other very positively. One day when we were clothes shopping in John Lewis, Edinburgh she held up a dress or a jumper, I glimpsed at it in passing, said ‘Forget it’ and walked on. The assistant burst out laughing and commented that we were obviously sisters because only sisters in her experience behave that way whilst shopping
How am I feeling today?
To be honest- a bit sluggish and running ‘I have this blog to do- why did I decide to do that!’
I have breakfasted guests, changed the BnB Family Room BnB and cleaned the bathroom. I have done some prep. for an interview I am having today with Maxine Harley for her podcasts on ‘Light at the End of the Tunnel'; I am sharing my story regarding my Life traumas which happened in the early 2000s and detailed in Survive and Thrive after Trauma. Perhaps that is dulling my joie de vie. (The interview did go well though so that’s good).
My food today.
Breakfast: Porage Oats, strawberries, melon (delicious brought across from our French trip) and natural yogurt. This has been my staple breakfast while I find time to make appropriate other choices or go shopping! No egg so best have protein for lunch.
Treat: Didn’t need one.
Lunch: Ah a bit of a disaster. I followed Joe Wick- Avocado halved, some scouped out inners with an egg placed inside then done in the microwave. I had to adapt slightly. Pity I didn’t take a photgraph!! Tasty enough though. His suggestions are based on healthy eating, balanced eating of good fats, protein and particular exercise suggestions.
Treat: I think I had a cracker and a bite of cheese.
Dinner: A chicken stir fry with veg. less than usual amount of noodles. Yummy.
What I did today!!!!!!
I went to the gym!
During the summer my gym sessions were non existant but boy did I feel that my body did not react well to that decision. Next summer I will need to keep up some aspect of gym activity as golf and tennis did not remotely keep me in shape. Neither did all the physical Bed n Breakfast work. Amazing that those activities did not help! Not fair.
My best suggestion:
Do not run as an excuse - It’s Not Fair!
Run: Just for today I will do my best. ( a variation of a Reiki statement which is just perfect).
Just for today I will not be angry.
Just for today I will not worry
Just for today I will not be anxious.

Question:
What is your default reaction when stressed or anxious? Do you go into denial, anger, frustration?
When you know yourself a little better, obstacles can appear easier to deal with.
Until tomorrow.
