The #30dayblogchallenge is what it says on the tin. A challenge.
Today is Day 15 and I am hoping my words will flow with ease, without much deep thought or niggles of angst.
My topics are:
- Our cats
- Saving money (and Internet Dating has somehow sneaked in!)
- Edinburgh
Our cats
Bramble and Marmalade are fairly new kids on the block. These boys give us much pleasure. We love them and believe that they treat us as a safe bet. They behave as if it’s cool for them to come home for food and to sleep in magnificent poses on MY chair.
They frequently make us laugh out loud. Marmalade has a smile which makes him look terribly handsome and Bramble always announces his presence with a variety of cat demands or stories.
They are brothers but I think their mother was a bit of a girl (1st mother in law said that about me- I wasn’t.) because there is no family resemblance at all. As I mentioned Bramble is very vocal and we have several conversations a day. I often wonder who he was in a past life. He’s definitely been here before.

Marmalade is a little shy. Most folk think he’s female; his miaow is rather high, but charming. He does offer us attention for which we are most grateful.
They are young boys, killers of wildlife and their instincts from day 1 was just fascinating.
Saving Money (and Internet dating)
This challenge has saved me much money. Some (can’t possibly admit to all) of my learnings and efforts have taken much time, more time than I bargained for. If I had time to analyse I would say the very final steps of each days bloggings, which involve teeny bits of techie intelligence, the Facebook link with photo actually, usually causes some shouting, swearing and frustration; mainly because I’m tired I expect.
I am a Press The Button girl, (that’s how I met Herb) Oh I’m going to deviate.
That is exactly how I met Herb. I was on an Internet Dating site. Herb made contact , explained he was able to help me with my profile photo,(cringe! but he must have seen the potential!). How amazing to remember that. Some things don’t change as in my skills with photograph manouevering online. Herb sorted the layout, helped me look even more attractive than I hoped and tht was that. We usually chatted at midnight after we had both been boozing at our respective pubs in Marlow and Horndean. (Maybe 1st mother in law was right).
I have to say he is not quite so gracious 12 years on about helping me with photos.
However, being more respectful of when to press the button has been essential with this blogging. I have benefited from the extra read throughs.
So, anyway I have not had time to go to the Sales. I may have missed some star buys but I somehow doubt it. Pennies saved will go towards my trip to Australia in March to see my darling Rachel.
I had intended Scoping more
Besides saving money it has actually stopped my plan to restart Scoping. That’s another area I think should be useful for me. But the timing is not right. I can almost fall into overwhelm but I recognise the signs. Usually the signs are around wanting to do so much. I can deal with it with my therapy tools. So Scoping will wait.
Shopping can also wait and late February should be a good time because I can stock up with some summer items for Australia. Rachel lives in Sydney and we are planning a Girl’s trip to The Northern Territories.
My other big January challenge has been equally beneficial. I have joined the very good Havant and Waterlooville Leisure Centres. Loving it!
An additional bonus for me!
I run a bed and breakfast in Rowlands Castle and the universe has been gracious to me. I have a chappie staying during weekdays only, and for a few weeks. So far so good. A kind of ideal houseguest for now. I will hold that thought. It fits in beautifully with my January plans and client schedule. Hurrah!
Edinburgh must wait
I adore Edinburgh, was a student teacher there. Visit several times a year but a decent post for this most beautiful and wonderful city must now wait for another day. I have rambled with relative ease 800+ words. That I find amazing. I love being amazed; it is good for the soul. I trust quality is acceptable. Some of my posts are on heavy subjects but subjects which need aired and shared. This post has been light and a joy.
Till Day 16.
