I had a chat with this man in Quiberon, Brittany on Sunday and asked him what he thought might lie in store for me in 2014. He looked a reliable sort and I felt he’d seen much in his life.
What stood out for you in 2013?
- Was it a year to remember?
- What was your best achievement?
- Was it a year of highs?
- A year of lows?
- A fair balance?
Tip: what we give out so we receive.
My achievement:
writing and publishing Survive and Thrive after Trauma. I always considered myself too lazy and certainly not good enough to write a book. But I just decided to do it so those beliefs were blown out the window.
My best decision:
to marry Herb. I had no intentions of trying marriage again but hey! Deciding to marry released me of limiting, self-imposed beliefs: blocks to happiness and potential joy :-). I felt a definite freedom. (Not bad for someone who does this for a living?! I needed to write a book to appreciate all of that; such is the strength of negative patterns and beliefs).
A highlight:
Graeme’s marriage to Louise was a joyful occasion; such fun and my first visit to Ireland.
A potential challenge:
Rachel going off to Australia. So exciting for her: a touch of sadness for me. But in reality Herb and I are looking forward to another holiday in that land of opportunity.
A sadness
Herb’s father died in November. He gave a wonderful speech at our wedding in May: no notes!
Two weddings and a funeral but all part of life’s rich tapestry.
What might you weave in 2014?
Happy New Year.
