A true fable for adults.
One day a fair lady recalled a strange phrase The Power of Intention. She had remembered learnings from times gone by; if you wished for something hard enough it can actually happen! What was it she was told? What memories were guiding her? Dumbo the Elephant and the belief that if you truly believe, you can succeed? Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz thinking, there’s no place like home.
Now this lady was to be married and she really wanted to have a great day but she also wanted to have good weather. Was that a wish too far? She did not think so and for some months before her wedding she would say a Thank you to the Universe.
Thank you for the sun shining and the good weather on the 18th of May.
She had remembered that you have to speak in the present tense because that means you already have it!
Many good things were already coming her way but she did not feel greedy. She was only thankful. She remembered being told by others that when you set something called An Intention and you Affirm it often, energy goes out into the Universe and miraculously you can receive what you wish for. She thought that it was also important to believe that this can happen.
Simple statements were made. She did not make promises she could not keep in the hope that her wish would come true. She did not make rituals or set times to reinforce her Affirmation. She just made the simple statement on a regular basis.
The time drew near to the wedding. The happy couple had boldly decided to have all partying done in their garden but if need be, in their home. She had no real fears about the weather: She seemed unable to give power to that thought.
In her country the topic of weather holds great importance. Many talk about it.
The week of the wedding arrived. She and her partner had been working very hard to make the Spring garden look pretty. Many helpers were gracious with their time and help and the lady was humbled by this generosity. A joyous atmosphere reigned. (This helped because she did feel in secret moments that much work had gone into all the planning for the day and she had to trust it to be worthwhile).
But four days before the event the weather became truly appalling. Winter had returned. Clothing banished to the attic needed retrieving. The lady had a thought,
‘If the weather is having some difficulty performing for me and my friends, then so be it. That’s ok.’
However the sun did shine. The garden was partied in from noon till dark. Everyone was happy. The lady was not surprised. Her Intention had been made, was met and many benefited.
Message: Ask and you can receive. Wish for good and simple things. Then more can come your way.
Moral: Be careful what you wish. What goes around comes around.
