When triggered an old memory is instantly catapulted into the now. I was prompted to write this blog after recently reading two specific articles in The Daily Mail. One article a re-visiting of the incident and the other a remarkable letter around the incident; one of the most awful atrocities in our more recent British history.
I will never forget feeding my two tiny children when the early evening news came on immediately after the event. It was horrific and sickening to watch. Later episodes of the news that evening spared the viewers: it was tempered down.
I choose to be non specific about the subject matter but use it only to demonstrate the power of memories which become implanted in our sub conscious.
And my point is we may hold a memory which limits our development.
We may consider clearing a blocked memory if we intuitively believe it is holding us back from the happiness, success, wealth or health for which we strive.
However the core negative belief which is restricting our freedom to achieve goals and desires can prove difficult to shift :
- it may be hidden so deeply we do not know it is there
- it may appear irrelevant to our behaviour or lack of success
- it is something we dare not delve into
I help clients to increase confidence and regain self belief. I work intuitively and spiritually using tools and techniques to clear negative mind chatter and the unhelpful emotional clutter we drag around.
I have written a book Survive and Thrive after Trauma. You can read or listen to the introduction.
