June 22, 2011 I have probably, actively avoided listing and discussing, how EFT and Matrix can benefit in the emotional roller-coaster when dealing with bereavement. It is my belief that people react in different ways to death with pets and death with loved ones. I have asked many people about this, recently, and in the past, over glasses of wine etc. A loved pet has filled our emotional needs and ask very little, other than love, in return. Husbands, wives, partners family, friends etc, make demands, stretch us, cheat on us, abuse us, worry us, BUT they also love us, adore us, wish to please us, need us around, feel stunned when a loved one dies – What a list of mixed emotions – complex, natural, unsettling, ‘the way it is…’ I now feel I can offer EFT as a source of help in bereavement, because I have allowed myself to consider exactly, where it is helpful. A person can tap on dread, worry, fear, panic, overwhelm and other relevant feelings. A lowering of these feelings will, most definitely help a person deal with the realities of what is going on. What I do not suggest tapping on is the natural grief and pain. I am not even going to discuss that much, other than perhaps state the obvious – ‘ it’s much easier to block the pain when someone dies, rather than face how you might just feel.’ All I do know is that ‘blocking,’, especially long term , and with all emotional situations, has a heavy price to pay on your health, and presumably on your personality. But that needs more thought, perhaps. Next blog will be LIGHT!
