2 March Is it my belief that many people have difficulty accepting that Emotional Distress, if allowed to, can lead to Physical Disease? An example – If anxieties about believing in your own success or running your own business is a strong stress trigger, and a hard road to travel, maybe alcohol dependency will become as issue. As a result… well the most serious result is death, anything less is a bonus and help may be available and prove to be a successful remedy. Another example A crippling fear of a spider or snake. The body reacts, tightens up, panic may jump in and a feeling of ‘having no control’ overwhelms. This could lead to pain in some part of the body where it is being stored, anywhere. If that is acceptable and reasonable to understand, it therefore should be straight forward to accept that a high level of Emotional Distress is potentially very serious, and may well lead onto the more acceptable Physical Distress, which most of us have no thoughts other than, ‘Oh a visit to the doctor is required.’ A thought!
